Topic title: Current Practice and Promise of Tissue Engineering in Rhinoplasty.
Abstract:
The art of rhinoplasty can be traced back to 2000 BC from the very ancient Indian. They utilized forehead flaps for complete nasal reconstruction. Rhinoplasty has now flourished globally, transcending its original scope. Today, it embodies more than just aesthetic procedure or a simple plastic surgery technique. It involves the confluence of tissue engineering and material science.
This presentation will focus on our clinical practices and advancements in rhinoplasty over the past two decades. We will showcase a series of rhinoplastic surgeries, highlighting our unique grafts designed and utilized in the last ten years. Furthermore, we have explored the incorporation of novel materials into these procedures. The session will include a detailed discussion of the advantages and challenges associated with these materials, based on our preliminary reports.
