Micro/nano Biomanufacturing
Micro/nano biomanufacturing is a cutting-edge interdisciplinary field that integrates micro/ nano manufacturing technology in biomedicine. It is committed to designing, processing, and constructing structures, devices, or systems with biological functions at the micrometer to nanometer scale, and is widely used in biomedical, tissue engineering, drug development, and precision medicine. We have successfully constructed vascularized liver tissue models and liver fibrosis models, microfluidic circulating tumor cell capture chips. Using advanced additive manufacturing technologies such as suspension extrusion printing, two-photon polymeration (TPP), and volumetric 3D printing. We have completed the world's first micro nano three-dimensional structure manufacturing in suspended living cells. This provides a new manufacturing method for the construction of in vitro pharmacological models and the development of precision biomedicine.
Liang Ma, Associate Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Zhejiang University, and Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge. He obtained his Ph.D. from Mechanical Engineering Department in University of Washington in 2012. His research includes the use of 3D bioprinting technology, micro nano biomanufacturing technology, and microfluidic chip technology to accurately construct in vitro pharmacological models of diseases, and to conduct a series of new biomedical diagnostic and therapeutic methods such as drug delivery micro nano robots and disease drug screening chips. He has completed the world's first 3D micro nano structure printing in suspended living cells. He has published more than 80 high-level SCI papers including Advanced Materials, Biomaterials, Bioactive Materials, International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing, Engineering and have been cited more than 4000 times. He served as the Deputy Director of the editorial office for the journal Bio-Design and Manufacturing. (JCR Q1, IF=7.9).He serves as a committee member of multiple societies and industry associations, including the standing committee member of Organoids and Organ- on-Chip Branch of the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering. Authorized over 20 invention patents and won one gold medal at the 2022 Geneva Invention Exhibition.
