Advances and Perspectives in Regenerative Biomaterials
The fragility of carbon-based life reflects the fragility of life. As the second largest element on Earth, silicon is particularly important for the origin of life, not only participating in the formation of oxygen on Earth, but also has a wide range of applications in the biomedical field, which can effectively compensate for the vulnerability of carbon-based life. It is a new generation of tissue engineering materials with active induction of tissue regeneration and functional reconstruction, and its outstanding advantage lies in actively intervening in cell function, promoting neovascularization and promoting the directional differentiation of stem cells. (1) Composition design responsiveness: by boron-oxygen (2) Dynamic environmental responsiveness: After the material comes into contact with the body, it forms high alkalinity in the early stage through ion release, which leads to apoptosis of surrounding cells, which is the basis for the destructive reconstruction formed by the confrontation between the material and the pathological microenvironment, and then inhibits the rapid release of ions with the formation of calcium and phosphorus mineralization, forming a regenerative microenvironment conducive to tissue reconstruction. The idea of "suppressing first and then promoting" improves the adaptive responsiveness of the pathological microenvironment and creates a regenerative microenvironment. Therefore, it can meet the major clinical needs of complex bone disease bone defects for local blood supply restoration, chronic wound infection control, and promotion of tissue healing, and the inefficiency of hemostasis and difficulty in tissue healing for acute traumatic hemorrhage. Therefore, silicon-based life maintains the cellular homeostasis of carbon-based life, which provides a new idea for tissue regeneration and repair in pathological environment.
